Tesla CEO Elon Musk will no longer be advising the President of the United States.

Now that President Trump has confirmed that the U.S. is withdrawing from the Paris climate deal, Musk has made good on his promise of leaving President Trump’s advisory council. Yesterday, prior to the decision being made, Musk tweeted “Don’t know which way Paris will go, but I’ve done all I can to advise directly to POTUS, through others in WH & via councils, that we remain.”

Musk sat on two separate councils under President Trump: the Economic Advisory Board and the Manufacturing Jobs Initiative.

The Paris climate deal intends to phase out the use of fossil fuels while adopting clean energy to help prevent global warming. The decision of Trump withdrawing from the Paris climate deal has been met with controversy, with the U.S. joining only two other nations, Nicaragua and Syria, in not taking part in the deal.
