Mercedes-Benz has set a date for the debut of its first battery-electric car; the EQC electric SUV will debut on September 4. Ahead of the reveal, parent automaker Daimler has teased the electric SUV.

Posted to Twitter on Sunday, the German automaker shared a quick video showing off the EQC’s production front fascia. In the quick and dimly lit teaser video, we can see a portion of the SUV’s front grille and LED accent lighting. Aside from those two elements, we’ll have to wait until September 4 to see more. Or until Mercedes-Benz deems another teaser is necessary.

A second video published on Mercedes’ dedicated EQ website (the branding for its electric powertrains) shows the EQC testing in Germany’s Black Forest with British racecar driver Susie Wolff tossing the SUV around. We see the entire car in the video, but the SUV is still cloaked in its eye-obscuring camouflage.

When it does debut, expect a range of around 250 miles on a single charge and the capability to fully recharge the SUV in about 30 minutes. That’s with a 350-kilowatt CCS combo fast charging port, however.

The EQC will launch the German brand’s premium EQ sub-brand when it arrives in North America in 2019, likely as a 2020 model. Following the EQC, Mercedes plans for a portfolio of electric cars under the EQ banner.
