Mercedes-Benz is preparing to launch its highly anticipated answer to vehicles like the Tesla Model X – the EQ C crossover.

The automaker released yet another teaser for its first fully electric production crossover this week, which was somewhat awkwardly titled ‘Mystic Rear’. As the rather risque title would suggest, the video shows off the EQ C’s rear end and taillights.

The EQ C is expected to arrive with a 300 kW rear-mounted electric motor and 70 kWh lithium-ion battery pack providing a range of around 310 miles. All-wheel drive models will also be offered, which are rumored to come with the same 300 kW rear-mounted motor along with either a 90 kW or 150 kW front-mounted motor.

As for the looks, the EQ C will be typical Mercedes, featuring pointed LED headlights similar to those on new Mercedes products such as the 2019 A-Class and 2019 CLS, along with rear light bar-style taillights and a silhouette that’s not so different from the GLC and upcoming new GLE. We’re expecting the interior styling to be similar to other new Mercedes vehicles as well, featuring a widescreen display running the new MBUX operating system, turbine-style air vents and other signature Mercedes touches.

The fully electric 2019 Mercedes-Benz EQ C crossover will make its debut on September 3rd. AutoGuide.com will have all the official details as soon as they become available, but for now, be sure to check out the short teaser video above.
