Fisker released another teaser from the forthcoming affordable EV, dubbed “Pear”. Fisker is aiming for a sub $30,000 starting price when it goes on sale.

Recently, the manufacturer partnered with Foxconn and made an agreement with Lordstown Motors to produce the SUV at the former Lordstown, Ohio GM assembly plant. Fisker has ambitious plans, it wants to produce more than 250,000 cars at the Lordstown plant, in full swing.

There’s not much to be said from the Fisker Pear concept teaser preview sketch. In front, we have a front fascia that appears to be similar to the forthcoming (but not yet on sale) Fisker Ocean SUV. Thin headlights flank a narrow opening that has the vehicle’s name on display. On Instagram, Henrik Fisker himself says that this vehicle explicitly has a non-SUV design, and is a class smaller than the Fisker Ocean, which is a Tesla Model Y competitor.

Earlier concept renderings from Henrik Fisker’s personal Instagram show a somewhat low-slung hatchback design, with big wheels, a wide stance, and a unique curved A-pillar. Still, we aren’t sure how close Fisker’s renderings will be to the final production vehicle.

Fisker claims the Pear will have a base price of $29,990, yet, the Pear isn’t expected to go into production until 2024. Other automakers have plans for affordable EVs, and Fisker’s had issues getting its more expensive Ocean SUV on the market. The Pear could soon find itself amid a lot of competitors made by manufacturers with an established history of producing vehicles. At the very least, Henrik Fisker says that the company expects to show a Pear prototype sooner than he expected. Soon, we’ll have a better idea of what a production Pear could look like.
