The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning’s pricing has increased on all trims.
Ford’s incredibly popular (and incredibly good) electric truck, just got a big price hike for the 2023 model year. Ford shocked the world in 2021 when it announced that pricing for its EV truck would start under $40,000. True to form, and not counting egregious dealer markups, a $39,974 pricetag got customers into a Ford F-150 Lightning Pro, rated for 230 miles.
Now, for 2023, Ford has added $7,000 to the base price to $46,974. This isn’t even the biggest price hike, either. The XLT and Lariat trims saw $8,500 added to their prices, bringing them to $80,974 and $85,974, respectively. All trims saw the price jump of a minimum of $6,000.
The 2023 model year does bring a few changes to the F-150 lighting, though. The smaller range battery has gotten a bit more efficient, now rated for an EPA range of 240 miles, compared to 230 for 2022 trucks. Pro Trailer Hitch Assist is also added; Ford says it can steer, apply the throttle, and brakes to help drivers attach a trailer to the truck’s hitch.
Moreover, Ford says that unfulfilled 2022 F-150 Lightning orders will be automatically rolled into the 2023 model year trucks. Ford will honor 2022 pricing for those reservation holders. Ford’s official 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning order book opens Thursday. The first of the 2023 F-150 Lightnings should make their way to customers’ driveways by fall.
