The Chevrolet Bolt sales figures are on fire.
Despite a slow start on introduction, and battery fire issues (that are now resolved), the Chevy Bolt and Bolt EUV’s sales have surged greatly for Q3. Chevy sold 14,709 Bolt EV and Bolt EUV models, up a whopping 226% from last year. The results are so impressive, that GM is increasing Bolt EV and EUV from around 44,000 units to 70,000 units annually, to meet global demand. This has been the Bolt’s best sales result ever, according to GM.
It seems like GM’s EV strategies are paying off. Just this year, GM announced deep price cuts to the 2023 Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, by up to $6,300, making the Bolt twins some of the cheapest 200-mile and above EVs on the market. Chevy even price matched the 2021 and 2022 model year cars with rebates, meaning, all new Bolts are cheap to buy. GM anticipates Q4 also setting a record for the Bolt.
GM seems poised to earn even more in EV sales all through 2023. Starting January 1, the brand’s US-made EVs will once again qualify for the $7,500 tax credit, including the Bolt EV and EUV. The brand also has two larger follow-up models to the Bolt; the Equinox EV and Blazer EV, both of which will qualify for the new tax credit. Those larger models will undoubtedly be more popular amongst families and those seeking an EV lager than the subcompact crossover form factor offered by the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV.
