The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has crash tested the Polestar 2 and it has passed with flying colours.
As we should expect for anything with Volvo roots, the new Polestar 2 has a lot of safety baked into the car. A few safety features Polestar is quick to highlight include the inner side airbags for the front occupants, a Front Lower Load Path (FLLP) to absorb energy during a collision, and the “SPOC block”. The latter is a solid aluminum structure with a design to deflect objects like the wheel, tire, and front suspension away from the cabin during impact.
But until it’s put to the test, there’s no knowing just how well occupants will fair in a collision.

After receiving a 5-Star rating from EuroNCAP last year, it isn’t much a surprise that Polestar 2 was able to repeat that same 5-Star achievement on the NHTSA test. This is the NHTSA’s highest safety rating, putting the all-electric Polestar 2 in the upper echelon of vehicle safety.
