Jeep’s electrification push comes to Moab.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xE has been a rousing success, which is a good sign for Jeep. The lineup will increasingly become electrified, including the introduction of its first full EV off-roader – the Jeep Recon. But, before that, Jeep is taking a series of performance concepts to the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab.

We don’t know much, aside from some teasers released by Stellantis. One teaser shows off a Wrangler with no doors, and Rubicon logos outlined in blue, signifying that it is a 4xE modified for even more off-road prowess. Jeep says this 4xE concept is “set to conquer Moab’s tumultuous backcountry trails in absolute silence, and further highlight the Jeep brand’s vision of accomplishing Zero Emission Freedom.”

The other teaser is that of a two-door wrangler, also doorless, highlighted in green. Other than that, no specific information about the vehicles has been released. Whatever concepts they are, Mopar Design and Jeep Performance parts have pulled out all the stops to make functional, unique concepts. Stellantis did say that the concepts shown off will be “Ultra-capable, Utterly Efficient and (Unmistakably) Jeep,” once again pointing to the likely focus on electrification for this event. The sketches are only the start of Jeep’s concept onslaught. Over the next few weeks leading to the event, Jeep will release more details, called “trail markers” that will give clues to what’s in store for the Easter Jeep Safari.

The Easter Jeep Safari will commence April 1-9, 2023. The concepts aren’t just static models, Jeep says they’ll be running, driving, and participating in the festivities.
