According to BMW’s head of marketing, the partnership between BMW and Toyota has already led to “big steps” in battery technology for electric vehicles.
The two automakers are currently deciding how to best harness results that both BMW and Toyota believe will dramatically change the electric vehicle market. According to Robertson, the partnership has made big steps in battery performance and efficiency in the pursuit of making electric vehicles more attractive to consumers.

In addition, the joint venture has also made progress in the hydrogen fuel-cell department, though the automakers cautioned that it’s a ways off due to infrastructure problems. As for the proposed sports car, it appears that though it’s being worked on, it’s “still too far off to be talked about.”
