Toyota is no longer perceived as the most environmentally conscious automaker in the world.
According to Best Global Green Brands ranking, Ford has surpassed the Japanese automaker as the world’s greenest brand. The annual survey, which is conducted by Deloitte Consulting, gauges consumer perceptions in markets around the world and combines that data with how companies operate internally and report their environmental behavior.

Ford improved its ranking this year by communicating better on its environmental activities, while Toyota lost ground for not being as transparent as in years past with its non-product issues such as water usage, greenhouse gas and business travel.
Following Ford and Toyota in the rankings were Honda and Nissan.
