The 2017 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid is undergoing testing.
The small charging socket door seen on the left rear fender tips off this car’s plug-in hybrid identity, while a fuel filler door can also be seen on the opposite side of the car.
Whether or not there will be significant changes to the plug-in hybrid powertrain is unknown at this point. Currently, the S E-Hybrid model uses a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 to produce a combined 416 hp and 435 lb-ft of torque. The current car is able to travel 22 miles on electricity alone, a number which will likely increase with the new generation of Panamera.

Overall, styling on the new Panamera will remain mostly the same save for some small tweaks. Weight loss of roughly 198 pounds is expected while three different body styles, a five-door coupe, a long wheelbase version and a shooting brake model, are said to be in the works.
The 2017 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid will likely arrive in the United States sometime in late 2016.
