This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the 2016 Audi R8 e-tron, but it simply looks stunning on the track dressed in blue.
Having been unveiled earlier this year at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Audi R8 e-tron packs 456 horsepower and 679 pound-feet of torque allowing it to go zero to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Sporting an all-electric range of 276 miles, the Audi R8 e-tron is destined for production finally and while it’s not as fast as the Tesla Model S P85D even without Ludicrous Mode, it’s hard to argue against the R8’s good looks.

Audi is dedicated to electrification for its vehicles and the R8 e-tron is proof of that. We’ve seen this particular shade of blue on the R8 e-tron before, but the company has added orange highlights by the door blades on this prototype as a subtle detail. The R8 e-tron will arrive dealerships as a 2017 model year sometime next year and will also feature some autonomous technologies for those who really can’t stand driving the car themselves.
