The Tesla Model S is reportedly getting an update and the refreshed car could debut as early as next week.
Everyone might be focusing on the newly-unveiled Tesla Model 3, but CNET reports that the Model S sedan is getting a refresh so that the American automaker can simplify manufacturing while incorporating new luxury additions. The changes will also give Tesla more flexibility in differentiating the Model 3 and the Model S by bringing the latter more upmarket and luxurious.
According to sources, there will be a slight visual update to the front end of the Model S that will bring it closer in terms of design to the Model X and Model 3. LED headlights will give the sedan a cleaner look and expect new paint shades to choose from.

Inside, the Model S will change to the same front seats found in the Model X crossover, adding ventilation as an option. New storage compartments, such as pockets in the doors, will also be added.
Naturally, a price increase is expected to come with these updates and previous rumors suggest that Tesla has a P100D model in the works. Of course the company wouldn’t comment on rumor or speculation, so for now we will have to wait and see if the American automaker rolls out the refresh anytime soon.
