This week, Elon Musk claimed that Tesla’s semi truck will be so impressive that it will “blow your mind clear out of your skull and into another dimension,” when it debuts this Thursday.
The electric automaker is holding a special invite-only event for the Tesla semi, so not all of the diehard Teslarati will be able to watch its debut. If you fall into that category, you’ll be happy to know the event will be live streamed at 8 p.m. PT (11 p.m. ET) on Thursday, November 15th. Typically, the automaker hosts streaming video on its website and through its YouTube channel, so be sure to check either of those as the debut approaches tomorrow night.

The Tesla semi is expected to be powered by a number of Model 3 motors and will also feature other parts interchangeable with the Model 3, Model S and Model X. A report from Reuters indicated the pure electric semi would have a range of about 200-300 miles with a typical payload on board. It therefore seems as though the truck will be aimed at regional trucking tasks rather than the “long haul” trucking sector. An executive for Ryder, which operates a fleet of rental trucks in North America, said he discussed the electric semi with Tesla at the automaker’s Fremont assembly plant in California – potentially a sign that it will be aimed at short- to medium-distance trucking sectors.
Stay tuned for more information after the “mind blowing” Tesla semi makes its grand entrance tomorrow night.
