Tesla‘s legal battles continue nationwide, but the company has received a favorable outcome in Massachusetts.

The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts has thrown out a lawsuit that attempted to block the American automaker’s direct-to-consumer sales approach in the state. The court ruled that the Massachusetts State Automobile Dealers Association and two dealers lacked standing to block Tesla’s direct sales under a state law designed to protect franchise owners from abuses by automakers.

The ruling comes nearly two years after a lower court had initially dismissed the lawsuit in December 2012. Tesla is hoping that the decision made in Massachusetts will carry over to other states that have similar statutes. Currently, the company cannot conduct direct sales in the states of Arizona, Maryland and Texas.
