Jaguar might be readying an electrified version of its new XE sedan.
AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers have caught a peculiar XE soaking in the sun wearing a badge that looks like it belongs on a Jaguar, though it isn’t anything that sits on a production model. On this particular XE, a round blue badge with the letter “E” was located on the trunk, resembling the S, R and R-S badges that Jaguar models usually have.

Automakers tend to associate blue with hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric vehicles, so the idea of a blue ‘E’ badge on this particular XE points at the possibility of an XE EV. Whether it’s a full-electric variant of the XE or a plug-in hybrid version remains unknown.
News of a Jaguar EV has popped up before, but previous reports say that the new F-Pace crossover will be the brand’s first EV model.
