Those first in line to buy the Tesla Model X can now configure their all-electric crossover.
The configurator for the Tesla Model X has gone live for the first customers who reserved the vehicle, allowing them to choose their paint color, wheel size and whether or not they want to enjoy Ludicrous mode. With emails being sent out to Signature Series reservation holders, it appears that production is on schedule for Tesla’s third model, meaning deliveries should begin by the end of September.
Nine paint colors are being offered, including Signature Red, Deep Blue and Titanium while Ludicrous mode will demand a $10,000 premium.
The Tesla Model X Signature Series will be have a 90-kWh battery with an EPA-estimated range of 240 miles per charge. The base price will start from $133,200 including destination and regulatory documentation fees but before a federal tax credit or any state or local incentives. Based on some screenshots buyers have posted, Tesla is advertising the Model X Signature Series price to be $113,200 taking into account a $7,500 federal tax credit, $2,500 California state incentive and an estimated gas savings of $10,000 over five years.

Up front the 90-kWh Signature Series will have 259 hp while the rear motors will bring the total to 503 hp, allowing the Model X to have a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. Standard equipment include the Falcon Wing rear doors with built-in sensors to open in garages of any height, automatically retracting rear spoiler, rear accessory hitch, maps and navigation with real time traffic, daytime running lights, power-folding and heated side mirrors, free long distance travel with Tesla’s Supercharger network, an eight-year, infinite mile battery and drive unit warranty, automatic keyless entry, GPS-enabled Homelink, parking sensors and blind spot warning as well as automatic emergency braking.
Other optional packages listed on the configurator include the Subzero Weather Package for $1,000 adding a heated steering wheel, three-zone second and third row seat heaters, washer nozzle heaters and wiper blade defrosters. The Tow Package will upgrade the Model X with a high-strength steel tow bar with a removable two-inch hitch receiver, seven-pin trailer electronics harness, tow mode software package and is compatible with hitch mounted bike and ski carriers for $750.
