2013-Nissan-LEAF-04

When the next generation of the Nissan Leaf is revealed, it will have a whole new look and a larger driving range.

According to Auto Express, new battery technology will allow the Leaf to travel 186 miles on a single charge, adding 100 miles of driving compared with the current Leaf. Like Tesla with its Model S, it is also likely that Nissan will offer the Leaf with more than one battery pack option at different price points, each one offering different range capabilities.

When it comes to style, the new Leaf will look more like a conventional hatchback and will borrow some elements from the Friend ME Concept. The car will also match the rest of the Nissan lineup, and will feature the brand’s signature chrome ‘V’ in the grille.

The new Leaf is expected to be a 2017 model year, so it should be revealed sometime in 2016.
